[HollyMutual-Announce] System is partially restored, but please read

All:

CWW finished emptying the Whitehall Well's pit of its remaining water
today. The cause was a broken pipe that exceeded the capacity of the
sump pump, and the repair to it was straightforward.  While the pit
damage would have been the same for other causes, this was one of the
least consequent. The pit's electrical equipment will require
significant replacement and repair. The system controller is a
semi-custom item that typically requires a long lead time. CWW has made
no estimate of the time to get Whitehall back on line, but I'm expecting
weeks to months.

Fortunately there was no damage to our distribution line pipe and the
Piedmont Well is working fine. Piedmont has a higher pumping rate than
Whitehall, although its storage tank is significantly smaller.
Regardless, we will be running at a reduced capacity until Whitehall's
operation is restored. Thus CWW has programmed the Piedmont Well to
provide water from midnight to 6:00 am for the next few days. If
everyone uses irrigation water only on their two assigned mornings each
week, everyone will get their share. However, if only a few properties
draw water on extra mornings, that will drain the Piedmont storage tank
too rapidly and there will be no water for anyone. We have learned this
lesson the hard way in past years, so please support us and use only
your share.

CWW will be back early next week to continue work on the Whitehall Well.
Based on how Piedmont performs over the upcoming weekend, we likely will
make minor changes to the watering times. I am hoping we can shift them
to start and end a little later in the morning, to make it easier for
those who manually water and/or to support the maintenance of irrigation
systems during daylight hours. I will advise you of any changes to the
irrigation times.

Cheers,
Mark
