[HollyMutual-Announce] Well problems

All,

CWW has worked through both wells. The Piedmont well failure appears to
have been caused by a benign electrical trip, and it was returned to
operation late afternoon. The Whitehall well also tripped, but CWW has
been unable to get it to reset. They are still investigating whether
this was caused by a distribution pump, controller, or something else.

After discussing our options, we decided to reprogram the Piedmont well
so that it will be our sole supply of water until the Whitehall well is
again working. CWW will be setting it to run from midnight to 7:00 am.
Even with this reduction in distribution time, it is very likely that
Piedmont will exhaust its storage tank before 7:00 am arrives, and thus
it will stop supplying water when that happens. Regardless, turning it
off early will give Piedmont a better chance to refill its tank for the
following night, and therefore increase the amount of water we can
distribute.

When we learn more about the Whitehall well, I will advise this list.
Until then and even though the weather is very hot, please don't
irrigate unnecessarily and please do not water outside of your
specified watering days. Otherwise there could easily be no water for
anyone.

Thanks,
Mark Derbyshire
