All:

Please remember the Shareholders' Meeting tomorrow night from 7:00-9:00 pm at Cherry Hills Village City Hall. We need a quorum to make it official and to have elections for the board member seats. If you're not able to attend, please assign a proxy for yourself. You can do this by replying to this email and identifying the person who will serve as your proxy, or you can write a statement and give it to that person to bring to the meeting. All board members are willing to act as proxies, if you so choose.

The well water situation is a bit more complicated than I realized. Last week I sent out an email indicating that Holly Mutual was not providing water at all, based on a number of reports. However that wasn't or isn't the case. The recently repaired Whitehall Well was in fact not working, and because our two wells normally alternate in distributing water, half of the time we weren't distributing water. Colorado Water Well (CWW) determined that one of the new Whitehall controllers had failed, and needs to be replaced. They gave me a guesstimate that this will take several days to a week to accomplish that. But no guarantee.

The Piedmont Well has been functioning all along, although it had a small leak that CWW fixed this morning. However the well meters indicate that we have been pumping an enormous quantity of water from the Piedmont Well in the 12 hours per day that it has been supplying water. It is very likely that it has run out of water for periods of time, which should not happen even during the hottest periods in July and August.

That concerns me, particularly because we are trying to supply water 24 hours per day at the moment, in order to facilitate helping everyone and their irrigation companies to activate their irrigation systems during daylight hours. However our watering rules still apply. Each parcel is only allowed to water on its two assigned nights per week, from 3:00 to 10:00 am until June 16th, when we will extend the watering time from 12:00 midnight to 10:00 am. While you are permitted to perform very limited testing of irrigation systems during daylight hours, that does not include any irrigation itself, or 'catching up'. Please be mindful of these rules, or we will be forced to curtail our 24 hour limited testing schedule. This has not been a particularly warm May, as the mean temperature to date has been 56.6° F, compared to a norm of 54.6°.

Nevertheless we are going to proceed optimistically, and CWW has set the Piedmont Well to supply water 24 hours per day. When Whitehall is back in operation, CWW will split the well schedules, as is normal. Please finish any system activations by May 31st, as we will switch to night-only distribution on or around June 1st.

We're looking forward to seeing you all Wednesday evening!

Thanks,

Mark Derbyshire,

President, Holly Mutual Water Company
