[HollyMutual-Announce] Adjustments to water distribution hours

All:

We are now frequently running out of water from the single well that is still operational. Ideally we provide water from midnight to 10:00 am during the "hot period" of summer (for us, June 16- August 15). Our two wells cannot pump water out of the ground fast enough to supply typical rates of water usage, meaning we are dependent on filling their storage tanks during the off-hours, when we do not provide water to property owners. With the Whitehall Well undergoing repairs, which happens to have the larger storage tank, we are left with only the Piedmont Well and its smaller storage tank. For the time being, when the Piedmont Well tank is exhausted we are done for the day. If that happens earlier than 10:00 am, we can't even start refilling the tank until then.

We can maximize the amount of water that Holly Mutual provides if everyone follows our published schedule and only waters on their designated two mornings per week. This schedule not only balances the water usage across the property owners, but it also considers that some properties are higher in elevation that others. Unfortunately if properties water on different days, or even worse water more than two mornings per week, our balanced well production is disrupted and everyone gets less water.

The irrigation schedule is available on our website, but the listed property owners have not been updated for a long time (my apologies). But the property addresses and the watering days are correct:

To give the Piedmont a better chance to fill its storage tank, I have asked Colorado Water Well (CWW) to reduce the number of hours that Holly Mutual provides water to property owners, from ten to seven hours per day. For the time being Holly Mutual will be only providing water from 3:00 - 10:00 am each day. CWW plans to make this change over the weekend. These hours are subject to further change - if everyone waters only on their designated days, we may be able to expand the distribution hours. However if Piedmont continues to run out of water early, the hours will have to be further reduced.

I have also asked CWW to provide us a list of the long lead items the electrical subcontractor is waiting on to continue the repair work on the Whitehall Well. This will at least allow us to verify that these items are indeed unavailable and/or better estimate and schedule other work that can be done to bring both wells back into operation sooner.

Cheers,
