All:

As most of you know, the Whitehall Well pit flooded near the end of June
this year. This caused devastating damage to all of the electrical and
mechanical equipment in the pit. We are on a long road to bring the
Whitehall Well back into operation. In the meantime we have been
distributing water solely from the Piedmont Well from 4:00-10:00 am
every morning. This still requires everyone who uses Holly Mutual water
to only use it on the two mornings a week that are assigned to them. The
following schedule is correct by address, but many owners have changed
since this was last published:

Based on current well pumping rates, the Piedmont storage tank size, and
the number of properties assigned to each morning, we calculated the
Piedmont Well could supply water for at least 6 hours per day.
Unfortunately it generally runs out of water after 4-5 hours. The most
likely cause is some properties are using water outside of their
assigned days. When we invested the time and money in the past, we were
able to prove this each and every time, and in certain cases identify
the properties that were over watering. This isn't a positive use of
time and money, so we always hope to depend on the honor system. The sad
part is when we run out of water early, this reduces the total amount of
water we could have distributed that day.

Regardless, during a normal year our goal is to provide water 10 hours
per day from June 16-August 15, and 7 hours a day from April 16-June15 &
August 16-September 30. Depending on the weather and water usage, we
have often been able to distribute more hours and also end our season at
the end of October.

Thanks to the heavy rains in May and June, we entered July with a
surplus over our projected well pumping limits. Because of the hot
weather we have tried to delay reducing the Piedmont Well hours, but we
are now at the point that we have to do this. Unfortunately we cannot
simply reduce the distribution time to 4-5 hours each day, as that
wouldn't reduce usage at all. Because of the overuse, this forces us to
reduce the distribution time to 3 hours per day. We're hoping we can
keep providing water through October, but at this point we just don't
know if that will be possible. Colorado Water Well will be adjusting the
well timers in the next few days to provide water from 7:00-10:00 am.
Please adjust your irrigation systems accordingly, and while you are at
it, please verify that you are only watering on your two assigned days.

Cheers,
Mark
