All:
Earlier this evening we had a report of a leak at the Whitehall well.
Colorado Water Well (CWW) investigated and found the pit flooded, where
all the electrical and pumping equipment is located. CWW next turned off
the Piedmont Well, but the flooding continued. We don't yet know what
caused the flooding, although it does not appear to be linked to our
recent heavy rains. Regardless this means Holly Mutual is currently
unable to supply water to the properties connected to our system.
We will have to wait for Xcel Energy to disconnect the electricity at
the Whitehall Well, hopefully tomorrow, before any further work can be
done. If the flooding is from the storage tank, that will have to be
emptied before any progress on the pit can move forward. There will be a
lot of electrical work to be done at the Whitehall Well and we have no
forecast for how long that might take. CWW will also assess what can be
done to isolate the leak, which might allow the Piedmont Well to be
reactivated. We will keep everyone updated as further information
becomes available.
Cheers,
Mark
