[Holly Mutual Water Company]

The Piedmont Well continues to operate nominally, but we are running out
of water before 10:00 am nearly every morning. This is neither good for
the shareholders nor the well. 

The Holly Mutual wells were drilled a long time ago when the aquifer
water levels were much higher. Back then the wells could pump water out
of the ground faster than it could be used. That luxury disappeared more
than 20 years ago. Now we depend on filling the well storage tanks
during our "off" hours and using them to meet demand during our "on"
hours. This works for the most part when both wells are operating, but
with the Whitehall Well out of commission, we are near the edge with
only the Piedmont Well. Nevertheless our calculations and long term
experience indicate we should be able to provide six hours of water
distribution each morning, while pumping water out of the Piedmont Well
24 hours a day into its storage tank.

Our calculations critically depend on everyone using Holly Mutual water
only on their two assigned mornings each week. It only takes a few
properties watering outside of their assigned days to disrupt this by
draining the storage tank before the the water distribution ends at
10:00 am. Even worse, adding just a few further properties will shut the
entire system down for everyone, because the distribution pump
capacities will be exceeded.

Please ensure your irrigation system is set to only water during your

Many owners have changed since this was last updated (my apologies), so
please reference your property by address if your name is not on the
list. The best way for everyone to access their share of Holly Mutual
water is for everyone to cooperate. If we can't do that, the Board will
have a very poor and limited set of choices left to keep the system viable.
