[HollyMutual-Announce] Another leak

All:
The excavator was out on Tuesday to look over possible options for
repairing the leak. It is under the street and typically this requires a
more complex dance with the City to obtain permits and handle their
requirements. The board will also be evaluating whether it makes sense
to replace a longer portion of the pipeline, because all of the leaks
for the past 2-3 years have been in this general area.
In the meantime we've asked Colorado Water Well (CWW) to isolate the
leak with valves we've recently been installing for this specific
purpose. That should allow the majority of the Holly Mutual system to be
reactivated. We tried this last year, expecting only a few properties to
be affected, but instead many more were because a long-forgotten valve
had been closed for years or even decades. CWW believes they have
identified the valve in question and successfully opened it. We are
currently on their schedule for Thursday to restart the wells as a test.
CWW expects the two properties adjacent to the Whitehall well will not
have water, but the remaining properties should.
I will advise everyone when I hear back from CWW about the test. Ideally
we will be able to supply water again during the leak repairs, but as we
do not have a potable water supply, we could be out-prioritized
tomorrow. There is also a chance the test could uncover other problems.
Cheers,
Mark Derbyshire
