[BrianWall-ChessList] Grrrrrrrrrrrr

I have been playing 1 ... a6 for 35 years.
I used to follow it up with 2 ... e6 and 3 ... c5
or ... g6 and ... d6 ( now called a Tiger Modern ) .

One day Karpov lost to Miles after 1 ... a6
and they called it the Saint George Defense.
That made me mad but I could live with that.

What I find intolerable is someone ( maybe Basman )
convinced all these patzers that 2 ... b5 must
follow 1 ... a6.

We have a local jolly green giant in Colorado
named J C MacNeil who plays 1 b4 for White and
1 ... a6, 2 ... b5 for Black.

So it makes me doubly mad when someone plays 1 ... a6
and then insists on 2 ... b5 which I consider a poor
approach to the position.

1. d4 a6 2. e4 b5

Don't make me angry, you wouldn't like me when I'm angry -
Bill Bixby as The Incredible Hulk

3. a4

To create a home on c4 for my knight.

3 ... b4 4. Nd2

Heading for my new home.

4 ... Bb7! 5. Bd3! e6! 6. Ngf3!

Grandmaster Alexander Ivanov uses this battle formation a lot.

6 ... d6 7. O-O! Nd7 8. Re1 e5 9. c3 bxc3 10. bxc3! Ngf6 11. Nc4

I'm home, Ma.

11 ... exd4 12. cxd4! Be7 13. Na5!!

Thematically punishing the stupid 2 ... b5 move.

13 ... Qc8 14. Rb1!!

Winning already due to 14 ... Rb8 15 N:b7 R:b7 16 B:a6
How do you like 2 ... b5 now?

14 ... Nb6 15. Nxb7!

The point is 15 ... Q:b7 16 a5

15 ... a5

Now I have a free knight on b7 to wreak havoc.

16. e5 dxe5! 17. dxe5! Nfd5! 18. Nd6+!! cxd6! 19. exd6! O-O
20. dxe7! Re8! 21. Ba3 Nb4 22. Be4 Ra7! 23. Ng5

A free Fishing Pole attack with an extra piece. Heaven.

23 ... g6 24. Nxh7

According to my Chess theory a pawn ( either color )
near a King is worth a piece.

24 ... Kxh7 25. Qh5+!!

Mate in 4

25 ... Kg8

25 ... Kg7 26 Bb2+ mates in three

26. Bxg6!!

{Black resigns} 1-0

Mate in 3 -
