Brian: Anthea makes it so appealling, like chessahoholics anonymous...

Maybe this is a list you can build on...

Reasons I won't quit:

1. I am psychotic. 1. e4

2. I am neurotic. 1. d4

3. I am a sadist. ::checkmate::

4. I am a masochist. ::blunders piece::

5. I am a trichotillomaniac (or became one after joining the USCF and
playing in their tournaments.)

We had to issue a quick retraction because Anthea was getting emails from
Colorado, Wyoming and all over the world begging her not to quit after one day.

To everyone concerned that I am actually quitting chess:

Reasons why I will never quit:

 1. I need a break from my kids.

 2. I am an addictive personality

 3. I make threats to leave my husband at least three times a week and have
been doing so for ten years.

 4. I can't stand women and fortunately there are very few at chess
 tournaments

 5. d4 is an option. I'm considering it ok?

 6. ocd

 7 the name slimedog

 8. i can't think of anymore so i'm going to go play some blitz on icc

If anyone sees me at a chess tournament from here on out I want them to
 tell me
 to go home.

 Anthea: White --

 Larry Wutt -- Black.
Larry Wutt is a nice enough guy. Maybe a bit overly intelligent, but other
than that -- it's not his fault that he will be the last person I ever
 play
 chess with.

 1. e4, c5

Reason #1 for quitting chess. I've been told by many skilled chess players
that c5 is why they gave up e4. If this is true, then c5 is why I gave up
chess, because for me, to give up e4 is to give up chess. Who want's to
 spend
the rest of their lives playing d4?

 2. Nf3, g6
 3. Be3

I've also been advised not to play Be6. I like it because it looks stupid.

 3.....Bg7
 4.c3 Nc6
 5.Bc2 d5
 6. ed, Qxd5
 7.d3
Reason #2. I don't want to play d3 here, but what else am I supposed to
 do?

7...... Bg4
 8.Nbd2, Nf6
Reason # 3 why do I seem one step behind? oh yea. Because I insist on
 playing the stupid looking Kopec.

 9. h3, Qe6

Reason # 4. I'm sick of everyone making fun of me and my sloppy
 scoresheet.
Say goodbye to the longest surviving female in chess. Foolish boys -- when
will they ever learn. Women need lies like flowers need water and
 sunshine.

 10. Ne4, Nxe4

Oh come on Larry Wutt. Give me a reason to play this game.
Reason #5 Larry Wutt once swore to me he'd never lose to me again. When I
first played him he took one look at me and decided to read a six inch
 thick
engineering book during our game. Funny, but wrong. He lost. Now he takes
me seriously. Is this what I really wanted? NO! Please Stop taking me
 seriously.
 11. de, Rd8
 12. Qe2, Bxf4
 13. Qxf3, 0-0
 14.0-0,
Reason #6, because castling seems perfectly reasonable here.
 14.....b4
Reason #7,I've decided to follow in my son's footsteps and take up comedy.
"Why did the b-pawn cross the road? I don't know, run!!!"

 17.f4,

Reaon #8 tired of being ground down in pawn up endgames against people who
 think like machines.
 17...bc
 18.f5

 I don't know...run!
 18...gf

REason #9 because my actual score sheet says f5 again

 19. Rxf5, cb

 20. Raf1

 Run!!!
 20...Nd4
21.Bxd4, Rxd4
 22.Qh5,Qg6

 Reason #10 Qg6. That's it I'm outta here

 23.Qf3, RD***can't read anymore.

 24. Bb1, c3

 Reason # 25. Pawns.
